Joshua D. Sroka
Josh has spent over the last three years exclusively practicing New York State Workers’ Compensation Law honing his understanding and knowledge of the law as well as honing his litigation skills. Josh has learned that maintaining a successful defense of a workers’ compensation claim requires not only knowledge of the law but also an understanding of the system and the parties involved in each claim.
Prior to joining The Law Offices of Melissa A. Day Josh has spent over the last three years exclusively practicing Workers’ Compensation Law for an upstate New York law firm handling thousands of cases. Josh’s practice has focused primarily on workers’ compensation defense for insurance carriers, third-party administrators and self-insured employers. However, depending on the firm’s needs, Josh also appeared on behalf of claimants and prosecuted workers’ compensation claims. This experience of appearing on both sides of the aisle has provided Josh with a unique and in-depth knowledge of the issues and the law in New York State Workers’ Compensation Law.
Prior to his work in workers’ compensation Josh worked at an upstate law firm where he primarily focused on defense of errors and omissions claims against insurance agents and brokers. Additionally, Josh worked on the defense of both attorney and medical malpractice claims.
Josh grew up in Binghamton, NY and is a graduate of Clark University in Worcester, MA with a double major in European History and Political Science. Josh attended Albany Law School in Albany, NY and graduated with a concentration in international law. Josh is admitted to practice law in New York State and the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. Josh is also admitted to the Federal Court of the Northern District of New York.
In his spare time Josh enjoys reading, swimming, baseball, softball and attending concerts and the theater as well as watching true crime stories.
