Shannan has exclusively practiced Workers’ Compensation Defense for the Special Funds Conservation Committee from 2013 through 2018.  At Special Funds, Shannan specialized in litigation regarding weaning from opioid narcotics and other cases involving the use of pharmaceuticals handling over 1,000 cases throughout New York State solely in that area.  She also handled files for the Special Disability Fund and WAMO throughout New York State.

Shannan graduated cum laude from Albany Law School in 2012.  She participated in the Science and Technology Journal for Albany Law School.  She is licensed to practice law in New York.

Shannan earned her B.S. in Political Science, Philosophy, and Russian and Eastern European Studies from the University of Notre Dame in 2006.  While at Notre Dame, she studied abroad in Russia through an undergraduate Fulbright award.  She was a varsity coxswain for the Notre Dame Women’s Rowing team, and was a three-time Big East Champion in rowing.

Shannan has taught 4th through 6th grade in Houston, Texas and Marvell, Arkansas through Teach for America.  She earned a Masters of Education through Teach for America’s partnership with various universities.  She also has a certification from the University of Notre Dame’s Master’s in Non-Profit Administration.

Shannan lives in Chautauqua County with her daughter Cameron.  She is a member of her local Masters’ Swim Team, and a Brownie Girl Scout Troop Leader.  She enjoys stand up paddle boarding and kayaking on Lake Chautauqua in the Summer, hiking and camping in the Fall, snowshoeing during the Winter, and being a softball mom during the Spring.
